More pictures of the Ali Paşa mosque taken in 2011.
Kemer Ali Paşa had this mosque built in 1572, together with a hamam (public bath) and a türbe (tomb).
He was a son-in-law of Şehzade Bayezıt (1525-1561), the third son of sultan Süleyman I (the Magnificent).
All three buildings bear Ali Paşa’s name, of course. Ordering his ‘külliye’-complex was one of his last actions, because he died that same year 1572.
