On the picture: Close-up of some details of the stone work adorning the ‘Taşkapı’ (stone gatehouse/portal). The architecture and applied arts during this Karamanoğlu period tend to be strikingly conservative (late-)Seljuk.
Compare for example with the Mosque of Murat I in Bursa (1365) or the Ulu Cami in Bolu (1382): another world.
