Emperor in front of museum

Marble, H: 267 cm. Roman Period, 2nd century A.D.
Perge

A statue of a Roman Emperor in armor, carved in a fine grained white marble. This statue lacks a portrait head or any attribute to identify which Roman Emperor it represents.

Next to it words by Atatürk stress how, in order to properly master a country, one needs to know its history and know the civilisations that lived on its soil.
