The old archaeological museum has closed, its collection is now in a building in the citadel.

It is unclear if the term "Diyarbakır Archeology Museum" still is used. The inner castle houses several museums, with one ticket. The building of this category comes closest to being the current "Archeology Museum". In the old Courthouse A building (Adliye A Binası) archaeological exhibits treat the many finds from several locations in and round the town. Many have great age, many finds are in fragments, but the collection deserves attentive visitors and is well-described. There also is a Courthouse B building at a 90 degrees angle, that seems not to have a museum function. Across the field between these two there is the Gendarmerie Building (Jandarma Bina), that is used to show Thematic Exhibitions.
