Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch on Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn - known as the "Arc de Triomphe" (Paris) of the U.S.

The Arch honors the Union troops of the Civil War - unveiled in 1892 - designed by John Duncan who then designed Grant's Tomb. Behind the arch is the main entrance to Prospect Park. The arch is the centerpiece of the busiest traffic circle in Brooklyn, with the main streets being Flatbush Avenue, Eastern Parkway and Prospect Park West.
