The 18u Rockets opened their 2007 season in style, sweeping Saturday play at the MVP Invitational in Hookset, NH -- winning 6-0, 5-4, and 6-4. They went on to win the quarterfinals 4-0 to open Sunday, before falling in the semifinals. Kate threw a 4-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk in her return to the mound, picked up a win in relief in game 3, and took the loss in the semifinals. Erin earned wins on the mound in games 2 and 4. Whitney -- who pounded the ball all weekend -- had the hit of the tournament, a mammouth home run to deeeep left center to win the quarterfinal game.I took about three pictures and handed the camera out the dugout to Marilyn ... She did a nice job ...
