My attempts to get the Ricordea to attach, settle down, and be content.
Jan 25th: The corral seen here didn't work for the Steel Blue and Purple & Green Fluorescent Ricordeas, so next try was pvc. The Rics were recuperating, but the snails were still moving them all around. Also, the algae started to become an annoyance as seen in the picture taken Feb 3rd. Feb 1st: Two Oddball Florida Ricordeas, the teal colored Ric has attached to a large rock, but the other multicolored Ric just won't stay put! Feb 7th: In the midst of Tribulation #3, seen here, four of the Ricordeas were moved to a 5.5 AGA tank with shells, rock rubble, and a few Blue leg crabs. The hope was that the low flow and lack of activity would help. As you can see they still were moved around. Feb 13th - Mar 21st In the BC29 again...the Green Ricordea and Teal Oddball Ricordea have naturally attached to rock. I finally got brave and superglued the rest of them to rock rubble over a period of days. Note the Amphipod (LR hitchhikers) crawling on the Multicolored Ric in the close up on Mar 12th. Mar 25th: The Green Ricordea split/divided, as can be seen in the group image. The other two pics show the Amphipods feeding on pieces of food that fell on the Rics (including one "ghostly" looking one rushing toward the food).
These pictures were taken under varied lighting conditions. A few were taken in 5.5 AGA tank with natural lighting from above and one from above in the BC29 with stock lighting.
