Mar 18th...Spring activity in the pond...the Wood frogs and Wood Ducks are back!

May 2nd...Sadly, only the Male Wood Duck showed up today, he seemed to be searching for his mate.

Thank you so much Fisher and Tammie! This really does make me feel a lot better...his behavior could just mean he was standing guard rather than searching. I'll keep an eye out for either of them.

Not to worry Donna, the male stands guard while she sits for some 28 days. She does get off to feed usually early am and late pm. He waits for her. Good sign that he is in the neighborhood. I had a pair early this year also, but have not seen him in the trees, so I figure they went somewhere else. Have faith.

Great to see "open" water!! Really cool shots........some of those of the frogs crack me up! Some of them sure have a look about them. That one looks mad......great to see spring is starting for you........super color on the ducks.....you lucky duck!!
