Thank you for the comment J Keen. Now that I look at this in the larger version, I can see that the underside of the club on the right antennae is not orange...only the tip. IMHO it is neither a Northern Crescent, nor a False Northern Crescent. Bug Guide is the greatest!

Saw your ID request at BugGuide. These are beautiful photos and they certainly look like what I have been calling Pearl Crescent here in eastern PA. You can see just a few of my butterflies, birds, etc. at keensphotos.blogspot.com. Most of my effort currently is a field guide to butterflies in my little corner of Berks Co. - something to give the visitors to the butterfly garden of Blue Mountain Wildlife Inc.
