Saturday night was one of those picture perfect summer nights - temperature hovering at 80, with a breeze that made it seem even cooler. The carnival, with the small town of Burkittsville on one side, farm fields on the others, is a classic country carnival. People come to eat hand cut fries, listen to local bands perform, watch their kids ride the rides and play games. But they mainly come to talk to friends. Small town carnivals always have a feel about them as though you're at one big family reunion where everyone is family.
