Wishing March 1

Maryland winters are odd. Or so they seem to someone who grew up understanding words like "lake effect" and watching people get blown across the street because of high winds coming down the wind tunnels created by buildings in downtown Cleveland. In Maryland there is no snow in November and rarely in December. Winter hits here in late January and trails off into March. It snowed all day yesterday, putting six new inches of snow on the ground. It felt like spring all weekend, so this was an unexpected shove back into winter. I took this shot this morning. Tulips in the snow. By this afternoon, the snow was nearly gone. They are expecting more tomorrow. I am wishing for spring and the sight of tulips outside .. not in a vase.

Lovely use of setting and the snow makes this almost magical... where are the footsteps? :)

Fantastic way of using the snow and the highlights as a background. Very well done.

I, too am so done with winter. On this date last year, we were 62 degrees (according to the news guy last night). I'm struggling this year - I wanna play golf!!!!!!!!!

Wow what a clever idea for an background. I erally love how those tulips appear very decorated in this vase. Further, the background of course makes them stand out just nicely and great lighting to. I like how it goes from real white, the background that is, slowly to a darker shade. Very nice job. I vote for your image, this is just to beautiful.

I know what you mean by fickle weather. Today, I couldn't decide whether to wear a hooded sweatshirt over a tshirt...or a long sleeved shirt. Brr. Breezy. :) Very nice shot. It would take a moment to realize your 'studio' was the snow-blanketed ground if you didn't reveal it. Very nice.
