The higher parts (c. 800 – 1200 m ASL) of the part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage to the south-west of the Palmerston Highway in far north Queensland, Australia, comprising the Tully Falls National Park and higher parts of the several contiguous national parks (Tully Gorge, Wooroonooran), are known as the Misty Mountains – for good reason.
