Orchard Swallowtail caterpillar

Papilio aegeus, Papilionidae
Named "orchard" because the caterpillars have taken to citrus trees, the species is an Australian native that naturally feeds on native members of the citrus family.
Here, it is feeding on Lime Berry (Micromelum minutum), a shrub that I planted.

How great that you have backyard pets to feed as interesting-looking as this one!

Another one that’s hard to tell where the head is. It must think it’s nice of you to plant its meal.

Excellent, well detailed shot. Looks like it’s made good progress on that lead.

Really interesting butterfly larva, and I see that just like the Giant Swallowtails here, it feeds on members of the citrus family. Cool shot.
