cyclone damaged rainforest

The forests of the Kirrama Range have been traumatised by two tropical cyclones (hurricanes) in recent memory.
TC Larry in 2006 was a Category 5 storm that brushed the Kirrama Range as a Category 4 – quite severe enough.
Then, five years later, TC Yasi hit directly as a Category 5 storm. Cat. 5 is the strongest category of cyclone there is with wind speeds exceeding 250 km/h.
On exposed northern ridges such as shown here, the damage is still very evident, whilst in more sheltered areas the damage is no longer so obvious.

The rainforest heals wounds of trauma, shifting, adapting to an escalation of events. A well captured scene and commentary.

Sad to see the damage in this excellent capture. I never realized rainforests could be so affected by cyclones.

Still a pretty scene. Part of nature's rejuvenation, but will it occur too frequently with climate change?

What a shame! Nice capture, Don..
