Newcastle Range

Taken from a helicopter flying over the plateau of this low range, in a granitic/rhyolitic portion of it (some areas are capped with sandstone).
For much of the year, the plateau is dry with just a few scattered waterholes, but when I took this photo late in the wet season it was green and water was running along every little streambed.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great to see the water flowing from above. It must have been a good wet season.

I think I would prefer to see this area in a helicopter. Terrific image.

I can see why you needed to use a helicopter... lovely to see it so green and wet underfoot!
