Three years after the last irruption into my home town ( https://pbase.com/donfranklin/flyingfox ), they’re back. Not quite in the same numbers, but still plenty – I’ve estimated more than 10,000.

Just looked at your flying fox photos, wow, I thought it was here. Looks like we have the same species! Also they've returned here this year too! Like you say not the large numbers. About 3 yrs ago they broke & denuded the trees by the river. Hope you're well
