The one on Bird had the wings, if you go a current aerial photo of the auto parts store you can see the wings..

I worked at Lindsley from 1980 to 1991. The best years of my life. I made amazing friends and worked for a really great company. Come and visit the sight on Facebook. It is called Lindsley Alumni. Meet up with people that worked there.

Worked at Lindsley Lumber store in 1969/1970 before entering military. Continued working there after returning. Had a terrific 17 years there.

Oh wow. Talk about memories. I can't place the dates but I began work for Lindsley Lumber in the Marathon Store. I subsequently managed the stores in Homestead, Bird Road, NW 7th Avenue and what was called the City Hall store in Ft. Lauderdale (?). This would have been after I left the military in 1966 so very probably in the early 1970's.

The name of the restaurant next to the Lindsley on Bird Road (basically in the parking lot just west of the store) was Cullpepper's Plantation Pit BBQ. Most people still refer to it as Plantation pit or just "the pit". It is now the Casa Paco restaurant.

I worked at the North Miami Store in the early 80's. It looked a lot like this one but with some differences. The N.Miami store is now a Javan Lumber but BK is still across the street.

This is the Lindsley Store that was located near the site of Dadeland Station right next to the Dadeland North Metrorail Station. Thanks for posting. Shopped there many times in the early 1970s when I first moved to Kings Creek across from Dadeland's Jordan Marsh store.

My maiden name is Barb Harrell. I started working at Lindsley Lumber Lake Worth when I was a senior in High School. It would be nice to know what ever happened to the other employees that worked there.

I worked at Lindsley Lumber Lake Worth. All chains worked together. It's nice to see this picture but it would be nicer to see the Lindsley in Lake Worth.

There was also a Lindsley Lumber in North Miami like this one on N.W. 7th Avenue. My Mom worked there as a bookkeeper in the 70's and early 80's . Lindsley Lumbers were the predecessors to Home Depot and Lowe's. I remember visiting her there or picking her up from work and this picture brings back lots of memories.

There was also a Lindsley that looked like this on the west side of US1 and south of where 878 comes into US1 just north of Dadeland

Okay Luis, Tim and Robert, I'll change the store's location to what you say based on your memories because I don't have a clue. Perhaps the photo's source was incorrect or they used this photo for the case involving the Bird Road store. Thank you for helping keep this site accurate.

Guys this picture brings back memories. It is not the Bird Road store but the old store on Red Road (57th Ave) and US 1. The store had to be torn down arround 1976-77 giving space to the new Metro Rail system. Luis

This is not the one on Bird Road. I worked at the one on Bird when I was in High School. It was a straight front "stand alone" building and there was a BBQ restaurant to the right. I can't remember it's name.

There was also a Lindsley Lumber on the trail just west of the Palmetto..used to go with my Dad all of the time. I believe that was a stand alone building though. This dude used to sell awesome Churros right outside.

not sure if this is the right address for this pic. i dont think the lindley's on bird had the angled "wings" this store has. this looks like the one for north miami. i remember lindleys on bird as a kid in the 70s and it was a flat front store thats now a discount auto parts.
