Shortly after this date the Brady building was extended north to 99th Street and included a bakery, an office for Dr. Karmiol, and Hinst Pharmacy, where I was employed for three years in the late fifties. Brady also expanded to a lot across 98th street to include a lumber yard. The Brady company passed from father to son during this timeframe.

I remember shopping with my father there during the late fifties. The store had a lot of the old general store things from the beginning of the century. I remember in particular this big kerosene lantern that hang from the ceiling. It was a hurricane lantern that was really used by the store after hurricanes. What an interesting place. It's history can be traced back to the late 1800's when it was E L Brady & Company then located on Key Biscayne.
