Charlotte was from a small town in North Carolina and working for the U. S. Department of Transportation (the Coast Guard's parent department at the time) in Washington, DC. She was in my Yeoman Class for two weeks at Yorktown. Her nameplate spells it as Hedgepeth but I remember it spelled as Hedgpeth and that her name plate was in error. In any event, she was more gorgeous in person because my photos don't do her justice and she was one of the nicest and sweetest ladies I've ever known.
