Irwin Goishen

Goishen, Irwin,, 73, of Ft. Lauderdale passed away October 19, 2000. Mr. Goishen had made his home here since 1959 coming from Brooklyn, NY.
In the construction business his entire life, Mr. Goishen was the construction manager for the Dade County Aviation Department for the past 11 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, children Harvey (Linda) Gershen, Mitchell (Sheri) Gershen, Lawrence (Rebecca) Gershen, Jo (Jeffrey) Gillman, grandchildren, Leah, Joshua, Hannah, Daniel, Brian, and Kristina Gershen, Randy and Sharon Gillman, and great grandson Jacob. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 23, 2000 at Riverside-Gordon, 1717 SW 37 Avenue, Miami 531-1151. Donations made be made to Vitas Hospice.

I am a cousin of Irwin's. Unfortunately, we lost touch with each other years ago. My name is Bernice Goishen Strauss. My Father, Saul (Sam) Goishen was Irwin's Father's brother. We lived in the Bronx, but were close to Eli (Irwin's Dad) and Dora and Irwin and Hershey. When they moved to Florida, we lost touch. I remember that Hershey, Irwin's younger brother, died many years ago. My sister, Harriet, died this past June...she was 78 years old. She was still living in the Bronx. I live in Wayne, New Jersey. Too bad we (some classmates of Irwin P S 226 in Brooklyn NY)we too late finding Irwin. may he rest in peace.
