Unit: CG Reserve Unit Miami IV (formerly ORTUAG 07-83479)

CDR Mason, our CO, reenlisting an unknown PO1, with our XO, LCDR Walter T. Livingstone observing. CDR Mason was a Coast Guard Academy grad and I've never seen a CO spend the time and effort that he did to ensure that all our enlisted personnel got their promotion requirements out of the way so they could participate in the Service Wide Exams for promotion. CDR Mason was also a civilian civil engineer with the Seventh CG District Office and retired in the late 90's as chief of the division.
