Early 1986 - dedication of the new FAA ATC Tower #9 with the Goodyear Blimp and the British Airways Concorde

Miami International Airport, Florida

Tower #9 only lasted 15 years or so because the airport built the new North Terminal for American Airlines and the terminal was so tall and long that the air traffic controllers did not have visual sight of aircraft on the north side of it. Tower #10, built at great cost, was constructed by the airport and it is much larger and taller. Tower #9 was dismantled.
