The narrow driveway (left side) between 515 and 517 Columbia Drive used to have three inch curbs on both sides that would scrape the tires of any wide car going through it. It was even difficult to drive a VW Beetle through it without hitting the curb after a few beers or mixed drinks. On the day I took this photo I managed to drive a Grand Marquis through just fine with the curbs removed. I lived at 517 Columbia from June 1969 through July 1970 after I married for the first time and the rent was $75 per month plus tax. It was really great having carpeting and air-conditioning after a year and a half of hardwood floors, a ton of termites and no air-conditioning at 515 Columbia (left side). Mrs. Gregory was my landlady at 515 and she was quite elderly in the late 1960's. She lived on the second floor in the front directly across from my apartment.
