Thank you to Stan Meade for contributing this great old image. I presume Hialeah Drive was under construction at the time.

My Mom worked there as the receptionist during late 50's and begining of 60's. The J Byrons was next door and the Jewel Box was next to that.

What is the old building there just to the east from Pix Shoes? Was it a hardware store? Can't seem to place it.

I really love these old pictures of East Hialeah. I'd love to see some of homes being built in 1949 on E. 10th ave. I have the original newspaper ad from that time and I'm going to send it to you.

If I am not mistaken, the store that was once PIX is still there, as a barbershop. This one small part of Hialeah had tons of history until they eliminated one of the streets along Hialeah Drive to build the two huge apartments.
