The Miami Marine Stadium was once the venue to numerous entertainment acts and boat races. It was damaged by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and has been allowed to deteriorate in the weather and the onslaught of vandals and graffiti artists. It was recently added as a historic site by the City of Miami's Preservation Board and hopefully be restored and reopened to the public who paid for it to begin with.
An organization has been formed to persuade public officials to restore the stadium and re-open it to the public who paid for it originally. Please visit http://www.marinestadium.org/ to learn more.
