Uncle Don, Skipper Chuck and Scrubby on Popeye's Playhouse

Miami, Florida

Thank you to Keith Pesce for contributing this great old image of his dad Don Pesce who performed as Uncle Don (left) on Popeye's Playhouse with Skipper Chuck and Scrubby. His dad "Uncle Don" wrote the song "Peace, Love, and Happiness" that so many of the people in their posts refer to.

John Gortaire - This was a great show. I had the opportunity to perform on this show as a kid and it aired for a week. It was exciting at the time..God Bless Skipper Chuck

Anita, it was Funland Park and it has been mentioned numerous times in comments under photos and in the comments gallery. The famous Frank 'n Bun drive-in was on the corner and Funland Park was further back in on the corner.

Loved , loved the skipper Chuck Show...I grew up with him and Captain Kangaroo...I was on the Banjo Billy show with that famous alligator he use to show.
Don you do a great job with posting memories from the past...Does anyone remember the name of the place that had carnival rides that was located on 27th avenue and 79th street...a neighbor (adult) went with us and she got sick on the spinning tea cups.

I've never heard that but that doesn't mean anything, haha. I presume you were at Meadowlane then? Do you remember a substitute teacher at Meadowlane during those year by the name of Jane Sullivan by any chance? Don
