HI..I am looking for stories and memories of Ruebin Clein, and his newspaper "The Miami Life," known as the Scandal sheet from 1923 to 1965, He was a pioneering publisher that had his printing plant blown up twice and his house once, accusing Sheriff Tom Kelly of the deed after Clein branded him a pervert in his paper and got the grand jury looking into his homosexual activities. He also broke Mayor Mel Richard's nose at a rally branding him a hypocrite who was paid off by the mob and who defrauded blind babies trust funds. He certainly was a tough guy who was not afraid of anything and had a nobility about standing by his word. He never was charged with libel, because much of what he wrote was the truth. I would love memories or stories about that time, him and his paper. I am his granddaughter and am working on a writing project regarding this. Please email me any information, it would be greatly appeciated...suzy11ca@yahoo.com

I am amazed how much the memories this site has brought up. I loved growing up in Hollwood in the 50's and 60's. Great people and a great town. The love of my teen life is still there and I wish she knew how much she changed my life. Royal Castle was super place to eat. The drive ins theators in South Florida were great and the movies and times were wonderful
I attended MacArthur High and graduated in 1964. I left town to join the Navy and very seldom went back to live. I miss old Hollywood and the fine folks that were there. Welcome to America I am glad your here, Please learn english so we can talk and help you learn about the country that opend its arms to you
