Doug was the long-time American Sign & Indicator representative at Miami International Airport, responsible for keeping our Flight Information Display System signs (FIDS) operational. He, and Paul Keener, the electrician, were hired by the airport a few years later. I was responsible for building the flight data base on the DEC computers that drove the system and the airport sent Doug and me to a DEC school in Denver to learn the system better.
