She was just sitting there, in her solitude, occupied with repairing some clothing. Obviously she did not own much more. But like so many other Chinese she had went to the capital to find a new platform for her living.

this is a good photo capturing important social reality. When i visited China this last summer there were opportunites to discuss with others what are the conditons for the villagers, and mostly for those older ones who are not being taken care of by their children... i dont think there is any welfatre system in place, so they are forced to beg, but eeven that is being covered up by police who dont want tourists to see this reality.. we experienced that especially in Beijing. To be fair,each country in the world has its own social problems, and China is in my opinion not wrost of then maun others who claim to be something they are not in termsof governance system. It is a beautiful and vibrant country, full of potentail. ;) thanx for the pictures.. ;) kristina
