The early Spanish started the Missions before Mexico was even a thought.
When my 5th great grand father, Moses Austin, came to Texas to get a grant to bring colonist he did it through the Spanish Government.
Those from Mexico who wish to take back Texas should study their history, they got the land through a revolution with Spain and we got it through a revolution with them.
Anyway, Texas is loaded with Missions, forts, and churches that are plain, ordinary structures, to very elaborate fortresses.
Some made history during the Texas Revolution and some were just compounds erected for the protection of settlers and travelers during the 1800s.
As I work on this gallery, I will be adding photos of many different types of buildings from log structures to stone.
The churches may have no historical value, but I like them for one reason or another and added them because of that.
The Alamo village photos are of the movie set erected by John Wayne and was built to exact scale and detail of the original.
I like it since there are no sidewalks or other obstructions that are now at the original.
Thanks for viewing and may God bless Texas.
