I had been planning the trip to shoot this event since January. Hoping the weather would nice and the trailer would be ready. Reservations were hard to come by for a trailer space, but I did fine one at Coleto Park. I drove to Goliad Friday evening to see the grounds and get a feel for what to expect the next couple of days. When I arrived at La Bahia and drove to the grave monument I was over taken by the awesome flowers. The mixed colors were really beautiful. So I started my shooting there. I then went back to the fort and walked around inside as the re-enactors were setting up their camps. It had a very weird feel to it. I know the history of the events that surround the place and seeing all the people in their costumes and the camp fires was surreal. For the most part I shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 70-200mm f/4L lens. I attended the event for my own reasons. Mainly to get the feel of the trailer and to practice in available light. I stayed to the end on Sunday morning. I shot around 1,500 frames. Here are just a few of my favorite.
Note: I will be adding some Goliad shots to the Black and White gallery as well.
