This is a 28mm f/2.8 manual focus lens with a Minolta mount.
There is nothing on the lens to indicate who made it. It says
"AUTO IMAGE" on the front of the lens, but I think that is just
to indicate that it supports program mode autoexposure
in appropriate Minolta manual focus SLRs. In any case,
I haven't been able to determine the manufacturer.
The build quality is very good. The image quality is
serviceable, but I don't think it could match the
Nikon 28mm f/2.8 AIS in a head-to-head test.
I bought it 15 years ago and I suspect it
was made in the late 70s or 80s.
