Recently a man in New Westminster, British Columbia (near Vancouver) returned from a Flat Earth conference
in the United States. Also a Covid-19 denier, he bragged on social media that he was ignoring the 14 day
mandatory quarantine. He was subsequently ticketed for quarantine violation, and after repeating the
violation a few more times he was arrested. You can read about this intellectual giant here:

It’s easy to despair at how many people are under the influence of cult-like conspiracy theories.
However I find some solace, I guess, in a 1943 essay by Bertrand Russell that is collected in this
volume. Entitled “An Outline of Intellectual Rubbish: A Hilarious Catalogue of Organized and
Individual Stupidity”, it reminds us that fools and liars have always been with us.

Excellent presentation. He should stay south of the border with all the other cult members. V

It is very disturbing that many believe in conspiracy theories and renounce science. If this doesn't stop, it will be the downfall of our civilization ..... A beautiful image Don, Russel was a great philosopher! V

What a stunning and beautiful image!
Every book lover would treasure this image.
I take heart that all of the idiots in the world are not clustered around me!

Nice shot. The writings of Bertrand Russell are definitely better to read than his biography. Read the two volume biography by Ray Monk. Depressing...

How can I not commend this much deserved tribute to Lord Russel? The use of light is perfect. The story you tell us is bitterly depressing because it makes us reflect on human stupidity, but luckily there are also human minds of sublime value.

Anyone who goes to a flat earth conference can't be too bright. Of course it doesn't say much for my country that the conference was here! So true that fools and liars have always been with us and apparently they live all over the place.

The mans an embarrassment to the human race.

He is a fool's fool. So interesting that that have always been around but in this modern day it's harder to believe that
they can ignore all the accumulated knowledge and scientific evidence. I don't think they are intellectually challenged but
they rather have a rebellious attitude.

He does sound like he was what Russell was writing about. Scanned the article and was appalled at that dangerous moron.
