Whale Watchers

Some humpback whales were surfacing in the distance so there
were several groups of people on shore keeping an eye out.
While walking the dog I heard the whales, but didn't see any.
(However last week I got a very good look at a couple of
humpbacks below our place on the other side of the island.)

The Coastal Range in the distance usually looks clearer than
this. Smoke from the fires raging in Washington, Oregon and
California is starting to make its way up to Quadra.
