I have a few Minolta MD lenses from the 1980s so I got an adapter for the Z6.
The Minolta 135mm lens is sharp enough I guess, but after using the unbelievably
sharp Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8, everything else pales in comparison. Still, it is fun to
use these old lenses, and the Z6 makes it very easy to control exposure and focus.
This photo is of the old D200 with a Nikon AIS lens, and I can assure you that is a
much harder combination to control.

The adapter is very basic, so the aperture setting is not communicated to
the Z6. Every photo says f/2.8 regardless of what aperture I was using.

I love old cameras too - wish I'd kept my old Practica MTL3 for a bit of film-based fun. Great shot of this excellent combination Don

Still have my D200 love the look of the CCD sensor a lot. Also have a bunch of MC/MD lenses, maybe not as sharp as the new stuff but fun anyway. Nice shot with the 135. V

Seems not that long ago that the D200 was cutting edge. Yours looks in great condition. I have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 that I love to use. Bill is correct in his distinction between cameras and photography!

Cameras are a great hobby and it is somewhat different hobby to actual photography. I tried the Z6 but it wasn't for me. I am now testing a X-Pro3 and I like it with the smaller primes, but miss IBIS.

The D200 and the old fifty make for a nice combo. Well photographed.

I am clearly behind the times on sharpness. I have the same AIS lens as is in this photograph. I use it on my Nikon D700. It is still the sharpest lens I have, even though it it is manual focus. V

Oh, sweet memories! I thought the D200 was a really great camera. I really enjoyed mine! But like you, I find the Z6 to work great with old lenses. My old Nikkor 500mm f/8 Reflex lens is fun to use with it. Of course, everything is manual but with 'focus peaking' manual focus is a breeze. Without it, I wouldn't be able to focus the lens. My old eyes just can't do it. I was going to sell the lens, but now it is always in the Z6 bag.

Glad to see you're able to use some of those old lenses, but that 50mm Z lens sounds very appealing.
