Wupatki Pueblo Ruins

Wupatki National Monument, AZ

Wupatki National Monument, about 33 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ was a fortuitous discovery. At the point Glenn and I were supposed to meet up with Sam and David, we initially missed the meeting spot due to faulty GPS information. At that point we were quite a ways north of them and needed a place off the road to wait. The entrance to this national monument was right there and all you could see was desert, the road in and a small billboard that had facts about the park and a few pictures on it. Glenn and I read this and it looked interesting. Once David and Sam arrived, they thought so too, so we decided to take a quick look. I am so glad we did. There were amazing ruins in a beautiful landscape. I would definitely like to go back when there is more time. I had never even heard of it prior to our accidental discovery.

Very nicely captured with excellent clarity and colors. The clouds also add so much to this image. I found this area to be a wonderful place to explore and was amazed at how a culture could survive in such a dry location. VV

And I have heard of it and wanted to visit, but it was not on my travel line yet :)

What a massive sight it must have been in its day with
multiple stories overseeing the land. Wonderful capture.
