After a discussion with Scott that led to me suggesting that I take a picture of me in my industrial support bra, Scott told me that I might ought to find out what Bev and her group of girls were up to this Friday. With a PM and a promise not to tell Scott the idea, I learned that Friday's SP theme was "sexy legs and high heels". In order to participate with the girls over the pond, I felt I should take my picture on Thursday (much like the Thursday Challenge photo gets taken on Wednesday evening). So, technically I am a day early, but at least it fits with the theme and it's not like many people are going to see it anyway.

I have short legs with fat calves (as lamented by me every time I try to find knee high boots), but I thought that maybe depending on the angle I might could make them look longer. I don't think I really quite accomplished that, but this picture was the best of the group. Since this is a learning thing for me, if I were to do the shot over again, I think I would lay down a drop cloth of some sort to get rid of the carpet. I would also turn the shoe out more to see the heel better since that was part of the theme. I probably should have tried a lighting so that either the reality or the reflection was highlighted and stood out in focus. I couldn't quite get the DOF so that the boots were in focus and the legs were not. And once again, I played with that soft focus. I usually over sharpen my photos, so the soft focus thing has been fun to experiment with lately.

I'm new to this stylized type of self portraits. On the bright side, I can only get better!
