I bought a close-up filter for my f1.8 lens which arrived just the other day.

Today was the first opportunity I've had to go out and test it. So as soon as the rain lifted (in
what seems like weeks), I went out into the garden, looking for some passion flower tendrils to
test it out with alongside that nice shallow DoF that comes with a 1.8.

Then I spotted this guy!

Lifted my mood really, I've been in a bit of a sulk, the Herald not only missed my photo out (and
this is the second time they've passed me over in a feature I could have been in), they also missed
my name out of the list of people being exhibited. Much to my embarrassment. I sent an email as I
thought I'd totally missed the opportunity, but it looks as though there's going to be a second
publication nearer the time of the exhibit, in which I'm assured I'll be named if not featured.

I'll not hold my breath though!
