18-08-06 passion flower

Taken a wee while back, but duo-toned and processed today.

This is one of the passion flowers in our garden. Inspired by seeing Pete's photos of them, I went
crazy trying to see if I could get them in Scotland. Then I realised it might be a bit cold and
wet. Fingers crossed, so far they've done quite well, all things considered!

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
1/400s f/5.6 at 55.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

It's a really pretty shot, MWB. The duotoning really adds something

that's an AMAZING macro and nicely done in the duotone . . . it's sad, isn't it, that the bloom only lasts a day, but it IS spectacular while it is up. On eof the docs I work with comes from an area of Louisiana where these grow wild and he said it was interesting to see bees 'walk' around under the extended 'arms' (anthers & stigma) of the flower rubbing off all the pollen. thanks for the ping =)
Are yours purple ot white? Or were you lucky enough to find red?!?!?
