15-11-04 street poet

I spotted this whilst walking through the park to work this morning.

I liked it for several reasons, the first being the sentiment, then the wonder of who may have left
it there. Then after I got home this evening, I noticed the spelling at the end of the first line,
which made me laugh even more. Not out of cruelty at someone spelling things wrongly, but because
it is something I'd do too.

Many of you may have noticed either in comments I've left you, or in reading the captions against
my photo's over the last six months, that spelling isn't my strongest point. It is something I've
had to work really hard at over the years.

To cut a long story short I've got dyslexia (and the irony isn't lost on me that they've named a
condition where people have difficulty in reading and writing, using a very complex chain of
letters). I'm not looking for messages of sympathy, and I'm not trying to offer excuses as to why
you'll find mistakes cropping up within commentary. It's something I've learnt to deal with over
the years, and something that I need to work hard at, rather than use as an excuse (which isn't a
critism of others, more of a character trait of my own!)

Anyway look at the company I keep;
Steve McQueen, Albert Einstein, Tom Cruise, Thomas Edison, Pablo Picasso, Hans Christian Anderson,
Leonardo da Vinci, Richard Branson, Sir Winston Churchill, Gustave Flaubert*

*someone also mentioned to me Cher and GWB, but if it's all the same I'll omit to include them.

Great catch and perfect way to capture it. Really would be something if this guy's verses start popping up like the stencil artist. :)

Nice photo and nice sentiment. I've never noticed any misspellings at all. I'm sure you've noticed my mis-typings, though!

I've never noticed any mistakes either, Dom. I commend you for your diligence. (My own problem is my fingers are too uncoordinated for my brain. And I can't spell.)

This is a wonderful find. Very touching.

If there have been mistakes I haven't noticed them Dom. Since I am always in a rush with no time to spell check I'm always making typo's & have been known to kick myself when I see it. However I applaud you for your efforts to overcome this difficulty you have.
The words are nice in the photo, but I deplore anyone defacing what is not their own property...it's one of those things that really get my dander up.
