03-11-04 problems

Strange day today, plagued with problems.

Firstly I had someone who I can only describe as an complete and utter @rsehole send me a nasty
email copied into his colleagues this morning. After fuming for a while I thought why get annoyed
about it, the guy's obviously got little more to do than to increase his overblown sense of self-
importance by attempting to belittle other people publically. He must have got a shock at someone
standing up to him, as I had a nice quiet afternoon. It really amazes me how petty some people can
be at times.

Then there is the little issue of latent light. It's getting to the stage that if I want to shoot
the PAD outdoors, I can take it first thing in the morning, or at lunchtime. Neither of which is
ideal, but as it's getting dark by 4.20pm and I walk to work, it means I've a limited range of
subjects, especially as our office is 20 minutes from the city centre. It's causing me some real
headaches.

This is a photo of the College, a bar and nightclub in Aberdeen. It used to be a school and
college for religious studies. But now it's a place of learning of a different type. I just liked
the way the light was hitting the grey granite.

Nice and creepy, and for a night time PAD you can get the flame torches on the front of the building!

Office politics!! I worked as a lecturer in a university department, with all those allegedly intelligent people with all those academic qualifications, and you should have seen how petty they were with each other. They were all - without exception - just like big kids who really needed to grow up. I hated it, and left as soon as another offer landed on my desk (honestly, they even huffed if someone got a new printer and they didn't).

Wonderful image! That is a great building, you get a sense of history from it.

Think lots of us are going thru light withdrawal. No doubt some creative soul will come along and rejuvenate us (I can only hope) but right now it's difficult.

The perspective of the castle is superb, and esp. works in grey.

like the shot, Iknow what you mean about getting time in the light now, it's a nightmare, I was lucky today as I slept in after a rough night tending Morgan, ended up changing buses this morning and got the shot on the way to work, but it's definately not easy now,

Sorry you had a rough day. I really like the angle you've taken the shot from - looks like an amazing building. Sounds like the winter is going to be tough, I forgot how early it can get dark there at this time of year, I suppose it forces creativity!

I like how you've left that hint of tree branch & I especially like the crop.
