17-10-04 granite reef

It's been a funny couple of days weather wise. One minute bright sunshine, the next thunder,
lightning and driving rain, coupled with high winds. Good weather for surfers though.
Better him than me, the sea temperature would have been around 8 degrees.
Not exactly Big Sur!

But it made for some decent pictures.
Unfortunately my camera (like everyone elses) needs electricity to work. It wasn't until I saw the
sea and switched it on I realised I had set the battery to charge earlier that day. So I had to
drop Catherine off at her Parents, nip home, pick the battery out of the charging cradle, and head
back down to the beach. All to much bemusement on poor Catherine's behalf. My reward when I
finally made it over, was to get to help my father-in-law lift a washing machine into his car, and
then from the car to the skip at the recycling center. But it wasn't really a problem, or a huge
weight, and I did get plenty of thanks from him!

Hate to be a stikler for details here, but I must say, these ARE NOT good conditions for surfing.
There is too much wind and the waves are terrible. OK, thats a surfer AND a photographers input.
Unless you're in the know, this would otherwise be a moot point.
My two cents..... carry on.

nice picture, suppose it's a good way to learn to surf because if you fall off that water would be freezing,

Now that is dedication!

One can almost hear the waves rolling in. Beautiful image.

Very cool shot, Dom. Bet it's mighty cold in that water! LOL

This shot definitely puts a bit of perspective on the vastness of the water...Cool shot!

Looks like he could get some decent rides all the way in. Nice capture of the wave set.
