Quest and his handler, Penny Sullivan, responded to ground zero after the September 11th attacks on the Twin Towers in New York. They also spent several weeks at the landfill looking for human remains. Quest was diagnosed with cancer early in 2006 and has had surgery and just completed several months of chemotherapy. He has continued to work and train through most of his treatments.
