Club Info

The Dixie Model RR Club is an HO scale Layout located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dixie Model Railroad Club
2101 Belmont Boulevard.
Nashville, TN 37212

Please Note:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the club is currently closed to visitors and is not holding regular operating sessions. Members may visit for layout construction project work as long as they take appropriate precautions to protect their and other members' health.

The club layout models the old NC&StL Chattanooga Division from Chattanooga, TN to Nashville, TN. The layout is intended to model the locale in the post-WWII to 1957 era - 1957 being the year that the NC was acquired by the L&N.

410 ft of Main Line is in place and operational. The current mainline runs from Chattanooga to Stevenson, AL. Trackage is complete, including signaling. Scenery is largely complete although there's always more that can be done.

Another construction phase is underway to take the line from Stevenson up and over Cumberland Mountain to Cowan, TN and on to Decherd and Tullahoma. Benchwork is complete for this extension and trackwork is complete from Stevenson through Cowan and part of the way to Decherd. Wiring is underway (as of Labor Day 2020).

The Southern Railway also had a major presence in Chattanooga. We model a short section of the Southern. The Southern also has trackage rights on to Stevenson, AL. Modelers may focus on the NC&STL, L&N up to CSX, and Southern & Norfolk Southern. Actually, members and guests can run equipment from whatever railroad or period they prefer to model.

The Layout is DCC (Digital Command Control), powered by Digitrax Systems.
