Sepia/Focal Blade Soft Focus by Isabel

Method for converting color images to sepia, which originally came from PC Photo mag, and was altered by Dave Jaseck of the Retouching Forum at depreview.com.

1. Make duplicate copy
2. Image>mode>lab color
3. In layer palette, click channels tab, choose lightness channel
4. Image>mode>grayscale (discard other channels)
5. Image>mode>duotone. Using Pantone Process Colors, choose black for ink #1 and 11-1c for ink #2.
6. Image>mode>RGB

I can't tell you exactly how I found that Pantone 11-1c but I had to fiddle with the drop down arrows...trust me...it's there.

I then used a new plug-in, FocalBlade
http://thepluginsite.com/products/photowiz/focalblade
for the soft focus effect. FocalBlade is essentially a sophisticated, but easy-to-use sharpening program that also has soft focus choices.

hi! my respects to the master...

I'd just like to ask if you don't mind.

I've find it hard to make a picture turned into a solid gold carving, can we do that please?
I was working on picture of a carving and replaced it with my head, but the problem is, i cant make a match of both layers that would make the face look like a gold carving.

TNX!

Isabel, I really like how this turned out. Would be nice framed and on the table. Gayle
