This is better (both were so well done) but the balance feels better here. I have a thing about balance and composition. In this one my eyes don't rest only on the left but see the whole work. Perfectly corrected in my humble eyes - as a viewer - not an artist. ~Aurora

I prefer this one, although there is not much difference between the two, this one might be a tad more painterly.

Here's MHO. I feel both of these rendering are good, but I prefer this one over the other. B&W is much easier to understand, as far as Brightness/Contrast are concerned. If one uses Levels and keeps in mind to retain texture in both density extremes and adjust contrast, detail can be conserved. I like this! Pogo
