The scene at Qualcomm Stadium

This was the scene this afternoon at our football stadium, as thousands of people
came here to stay after being evacuated because of the terrible wildfires in
San Diego. They're reporting that well over 250,000 have been evacuated.

I went to the stadium to see what I could do to help; they put me to work helping
load palette after palette of bottled water for distribution in some other part
of the stadium. Hundreds of volunteers, tons of food, blankets, clothing, and
water. People were pitching tents everywhere (except on the field; they weren't
allowed there), or laying blankets behind rows of seats in the stadium.

The row nearest the camera was paper plates and such, then came the lines for
perishable food donated by restaurants, then came the place for canned food, and the
line farthest away were for blankets and clothing.

I took a few shots of tents and such, if you want to take a look.

Thanks for helping Gary. Fabulous photojournalism... I hear at least some of the fires were arson. Incredible.

Thanks for helping, Gary. An all too familiar shot to me. Please post a separate gallelry of this tragedy--it should be recorded from your eyes.
