Christmas on the Prado

Well, actually, it's called "December Nights" to appease the PC crowd,
but Christmas on the Prado is the original name. This is the magnificent
living Christmas Tree in all its majest on the stage of the Organ
Pavilion in Balboa Park.

For a shot of how the tree is assembled, look here: http://www.pbase.com/digitalgee/image/52960745

Something similar occurs here in L.A. at the Grove shopping center. They "assemble" a living tree out of each individual branch that was first removed for shipment, and the end of each branch has a carved, sanded peg, and they simply plug the branches back into holes they drilled into the trunk. It looked at first glance, when they were assembling it, just like a fake tree. Smells great!
