Cell Phone Overwhelm

It's time to replace my mobile phone. I'm under no obligation to stay
with my carrier (Verizon), but I'm overwhelmed by all the choices out
there in terms of phones. I thought perhaps some of you might have some
advice? I "guess" I want a camera on the phone, but other than that,
what appeals to me is a large, bright screen, good voice tones that I can
actually hear, and easy of navigation. I don't care about games, internet,
watching TV, or other bells and whistles -- but maybe I should?

I want your advice and/or point me to an unbiased website that can help
me do the research on phones and carriers.

In the future, remember to keep your phone inside the spacecraft on re-entry!

Can't believe how well-worn your phone looks ... don't ask a teenager for help, tho! ;)

You really need a new phone :S
Is Verizon Wireless a GSM-based company? If so, check out www.phonescoop.com to see some cools phones.

Keep it simple. The most important feature for me are the BIG letters!

I have Verizon & am using my original Samsung phone ( I broke down 3 years ago and ordered cell service) I still don't know how to get something called text messges. Research this would ya, my service plan is up shortly, too.

Actually a very nice shot of a very worn cellphone. What happened, did you drop it in the sand while trying to make a decision to swim or surf? I like Verizon. I have an LG with no camera, works good.

How has your cell phone lasted this long? Mine usually don't make it a year. All of the providers are basically the same and they all have horrible customer service. Stay with who you're with and avoid the activation fees. That's my two cents.

I've stayed with a simple one Gary ... an older Kyocera which is just a phone and a PDA. Weight and battery life are two key considerations for me.

Just thought this is an interesting picture, can't help you much with cellphones :)
