Surfer

My first ever surfer picture! I know it's not the best it could be,
but it was fun. I hooked up with a local photography group (thanks to
Dan Chuysid http://www.pbase.com/camera0bug/profile for organizing us.)
We went out to Ocean Beach pier, trading lenses and talking shop. In
fact, this image was with a borrowed lens from a fine fellow named Ken.

I wish I'd remembered my ISO was too high most of the morning but I didn't. Oh well.

Got a neat picture as an almost ran for PaD as well; click here:
http://www.pbase.com/digitalgee/image/41264573 and that was with
Robin's 70-300 DO lens.

other sizes: small medium original auto

That's a great shot, especially for a non-IS lens. Very well done!

Great idea to go out with others, trade stories, tips and lenses. Super shot of the surfer, dude.

This is excellent... timing, action, focus, exposure all work to make this a strong composition.

Excellent action shot. I think the other PaD option is wonderful, also.

Outstanding catch. Really a fine start for a 'first' surfer shot. Herb will be envious.

Very well captured! Gary, I'm still learning to pan and to capture fast moving objects
